Improvanov - Anton Chekhov UnscriptedThe best performances here were from David August as the pining ineffectual intellectual, Frank...

David August, as the dilettante Frank, masters the frail superiority of a man who speaks six languages but can't do anything else. His monologue about their maid's obsession with soap and his belief in its uselessness comes very close to emerging from Chekhov's own hand. August also has a talent for stinging insults aimed at the soldier.

Holiday by Philip BarryDavid August in the meaty role of kid brother Ned, flits around the edges of the story giving an excellent perfomance as a weak, often drunk, lost soul. His second-act monologue on what drinking means to him is one of the best moments of the play, in spite of the fact that it does nothing to further the plot.
